What is the story?

Sweeping and thrilling, 'Sunset takes us back to the golden age of Hollywood where faded icon Norma Desmond luxuriates in obscurity after the invention of 'Talkies' leaves her outmoded. Desperate for a comeback, she enlists the services of wide-eyed screenwriter Joe Gillis, believing he can save her career. But for Joe, helping Norma comes at too heavy a price, despite the wonder of her life. When Joe loses his heart to budding Betty, Norma sees her chance slipping away and decides to act - with tragic consequences.
